The project is aimed at extending production of some types of products extensively demanded at the market. These products will include ceramic insulators for power industry, valve components for petroleum industry, armor ceramics applied in personal protection and panels for armored vehicles, ceramics substrates for semiconductor devices (LED included) and thermoelectric modules. One more target of the project to be invested in is organization of prospective products development, i.e. ceramic implants for treatment of diseases and damages of spine and joints and dentistry.
Nano-powders enhance density and respectively reduce porosity of ceramics. A number of technological problems appeared in the course of nano-particles processing were resolved by use of ultrasonic compacting. This effective method of dry shaping of non-plastic ceramic powders provides high mechanical strength and uniform volume plasticity of compacts without use of plasticizers. Advanced methods of sintering (microwave (SHF) sintering, hot pressing and spark plasma sintering) keep nanostructure of compacts, mean grain size is 100 nm.
